ABOUT LANGKAWI
Langkawi is a duty-free island (there are 3 designated ‘duty free’ islands in Malaysia: the other 2 are Tioman and Labuan). Langkawi is an archipelago of 99 islands located in the Strait of Malacca about 30 km off the coast of north-western Malaysia adjacent to the Thai border … and south of Ko Tarutao Marine Park (and Ko Lipe), Thailand .
Langkawi Island is about 25 km (16 mi) from north to south and slightly more from east to west. The coastal areas consist of flat, alluvial plains punctuated with limestone ridges.
Two-thirds of the island is dominated by forest-covered mountains, hills, and natural vegetation.

PERSONAL NOTE
I like LCL so much that I have been keeping it secret.
I was scared that, if I told too many people about it, it would become so popular and full that I wouldn’t be able to book a room for myself!
I solved that problem by booking it for 2 months in December & January for the next 11 years 🙂
Now that I have looked after myself … I can open up and look after you …
LOCATION
LCL is located in a quiet area amongst the fields at the northern end of Cenang Beach.
ACCOMMODATION
Mama Yati and Papa Mas took over LCL several years ago and they have been slowly building it up to offer different types of accommodation for all budgets.

Mama Yati and Papa Mas plan for LCL to be their final retirement home and want it to ‘feel like home’ for all who stay.
BREAKFAST
All accommodation (except for Homes) include breakfast in their common Dining Area.
AIRPORT TRANSFERS
LCL offer free pick up and drop off from / to the airport. Just contact LCL in advance to let them know your flight details.
Sometimes, it is possible to arrange pick up from the Kuah Ferry Port. Just ask and see what they can do.
SCOOTER RENTAL
LCL offer Scooter Rental at better rates than you can find on the street. Ask them for a price quote for your stay.
Suggestion: I strongly suggest that you rent a scooter for at least part of your stay so that you can have a good look around the island and can independently go to some of the tourist sites.
INTERNET / WIFI
You may want to have the freedom of your own SIMcard whilst in Langkawi.
But, you won’t need to use it at LCL.
LCL offer free & fast wifi to all of their guests: in all areas and all rooms.
It is so excellent and reliable, that LCL attract many Digital Nomads (like me).
SOCIAL EVENTS

LCL put on many of their own social events such as live music, karaoke, dinner banquets, and even chess tournaments.

3RD PARTY
LCL are well known and liked in Langkawi. This enables them to get you invites to many 3rd party events on the island.
Examples include a beachfront mid-Ramadan Feast.

LCL also offer their own tours.
